La Grande Motte : La Grande Motte is a recent seaside resort. The very original and futuristic architecture made of high pyramids attracts the curiosity of many tourists. This collection of contemporary buildings is organized on the seafront, overlooking the vast sandy beach that stretches 6 km long. Villeneuve-les-Maguelone : Located between Frontignan Palavas and the sandy beach of Villeneuve-les-Maguelone extends over 12 km long. It has a naturist area which is still preserved overcrowding summer.
Carnon : Located 15 km from Montpellier and La Grande-Motte Palavas-les-flots, the sandy beaches of Carnon and the Petit Travers dunes are assessed through both tourists and Montpellier inhabitants.
Palavas-les-flots : The beach of this picturesque fishing port is located 12 km from Montpellier and stretches over seven kilomètres.Cette resort placed in the middle of the ponds has inspired many artists such as Frederic Bazille, Courbet or Albert Dubout.
Valras : This pleasant fishing port and marina at the mouth of the Orb has a sandy beach that extends until the Grau de Vendres, at the mouth of the Aude. Many shows are held in the summer.

Many other beaches are also to be discovered such as Cap d'Agde, Frontignan, Marseillan, Sete, Sérignan or Portiragnes.
Salagou Lake : The lake Salagou is located thirty miles northwest of Montpellier, near Clermont l'Hérault. Its banks are virtually untouched construction. It is bordered by ancient volcanoes and canyons of red rock contrasting with the blue water. Soft inland sea, the water temperature reaches up to 28 degrees during the summer. These banks, designed to accommodate fishing, camping, water bases are a delight for tourists and walkers. Many other activities such as hiking and mountain biking are also available. Namely: a management plan was implemented at the initiative of the Department, with all local stakeholders, to ensure the safety and activity of the site.
Raviége Lake : The lake is located near the Salvetat-sur-Agout. The Raviège dam with a height of 35 meters, creating a reservoir of 410 hectares and 12 km long. All water sports can be enjoyed on this lake, except for the jet-ski. A water sports can rent pedal boats, canoes, boats ... A multitude of hiking trails crisscross the mountain and forest of beech and pine trees surrounding the lake.
Lake Avene : Located in the northern department, near the spa town of Avène-les-Bains, Lake Avene is an artificial lake that feeds the Orb in times of drought. It is bordered by the vast forests of the mountains of the Orb where it is good to promener. It is an artificial lake, a superb spa town in which to walk, the lake is fully integrated in the middle of the surrounding mountains.
